Math Class

Algebra II students put their problem-solving skills to work with the Tower of Hanoi, a classic mathematical puzzle that brought our study of sequences and patterns to life.

Working hands-on, students moved disks between towers while following specific rules, recorded their results in a table, and looked for patterns in the number of moves required. They then connected what they observed to geometric sequences and exponential growth.

Beyond the math, the challenge encouraged students to persevere, develop strategies, recognize patterns, and revise their work.

Sometimes the best way to understand mathematics is to see it, touch it, test it, and discover the pattern yourself!
